PIES & FRIENDS & BIRTHDAYPARTIES
I'm trying to do a thousand things at a time - like usually.
And I think I'm doing pretty well
cleaning, packing & looking after the blueberry-pie in the oven.
Gonna bring it to Anna in an hour for her birthday-thingy, with blankets on the floor and nice eatable stuff that people will bring...
early tomorrow morning I'm off to Gothenburg, so this is probably the lats post for a while, I'm back on friday afternoon, in time for the premiere of the beergarden at Debaser!
so long, have a nice week!
xx

BREAKFAST ME

AYOBA!
wow,
you know, once in a while you just have those days when everything is wonderful?
during summertime, everyday can be like this, but during winter it doesn't happen as often.
today it did. this day has just put me in a really great mood, and I'm thankful for everything.
waking up , starting the day knowing I got a really good grade at the exam I was so worried about, then heading out for some spoiling-yourself-shopping. got those beautiful shoes I've been longing for (though they are very high, and will join some of those shoes which I only bought because I HAD to have them, though I'm too tall to ever use them)
I also got a nice summer-lipstick in a kind of coral-colour, and a striped, mintgreen bikini! bali , I'm so prepared for you! (actually No I'm not, I still have to get vaccine, and a silk-sleepingbag and..and..and..)
I also got stuck at the book-sales and got myself some cookbooks, because those are the kind of books I always love to look at and dream about, but they're always a bit too expensive for me..so I got one from Jamie Oliver, and then a regular, thick one, which is the kind of cookbook where you can find anything you need to know about real home-made food..it looked kind of boring so it's not in the picture...there were still so many books I'd like to get so if someone would like to surprise me , there are still "Pink", "one more slice" & "under valnötsträdet"..or the one about vietnamese food..some of them were only 4,90 euros! used to be 29!
also had a nice cuppa' tea & pastry with my dear friend Dominique. he's so wonderful!
this is the kind of day you wish you came home, and could share a really nice meal with your boyfriend or best-friend...but it won't be long until my best friend is here for a looong visit!!
well, gonna cook myself a delicious little Thai-soup with coconutmilk, lemongrass and tofu.
hope you're having a nice evening too
xx V.

JAMIE'S "SWEDISH" BLUBERRY BUNS
this evening I've just had one of those nights when you crawl up in the armchair, all tucked in with a blanket, and the laptop on your knees...reading insiring blogs, looking at beautiful pictures, and watching nice videoclips & streamings..
I wish there were more of you reading this blog, cause that would make me more motivatd to do somthing about it. right now it's a mess, and so are these buns, but man, am I gonna eat them...one day..

lovers, friends & soldiers
yesterday was phat.
(yeah I'm in my hiphop-mood, wearing my hiphop outfit yesterday & right now listening to Bow Wow & Snoop...it's all good)
anyway, I think this day could turn out fine aswell.
woke up quite early to meet up with my friends, we're doing a project for school, so we went to a nice café to chill & write some stuff..
took a stroll around the city, went to bolagret, and found soo many things I want to have in the appartment!!
like this one:

mathilda has a pink one in her kitchen & i wanted to get one myself. I was hoping that there weren't any in turquoise, so I wouldn't have to choose..I thought I'd try to ignore my turquoise-obsession and try to put some pink stuff in the kitchen aswell (like the pink chair from ikea..want them!)...
but of course they also had this trolley in turquoise. now what?! maybe i could get a turquoise for the bathroom ( cause that's still all-turquoise) but I'm not sure it fits in there cause the bathroom is tiny..
this evening I'm going to Anna for some nice dinner, she's the queen of cooking!
Think I'll bring some edamame-beans (delicious!) & apple/cinnamon-wine
adieu!

chestnut
potatoe/leek-soup finished..enjoying it in a big bowl
whenever I make soup, I always make looooads of it, cause I think I'll get some leftovers that I can heat later again..but oh no, I keep going to the stove..I always do whenever there's still food on there..
later on I'm gonna roast some chestnut. I ate it at a dinner I went to some weeks ago and it was really nice, so I found some reeeeally cheap ones (a bag with maybe 15-20 of them) for 40 cents!! crazy..only in Malmö <3

American Pancakes á la Natalie
the other day (saturday) i went for brunch at my friends annas place (see pictures a couple of posts down)...
Natalie came over and did the most amazing american pancakes I've ever eaten! usually I think they're too fluffy and heavy, but these were so great!, so I had to get the recipe, and here goes:
mix:
3,5 dl of flour
2 teaspoon spoons of baking powder
½ teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of vanilla-sugar
(if you want, some lemon cest)
then, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, and mix it with the flour-mix and 2½ dl of milk, and 1 egg..
fry, eat, enjoy!!

HYPE!
last night was OK. you know sometimes you've been hyping something for ages, and then when you're finally there it's just not working out the way you imagined it to...
yesterday was like that, but i guess in the end i had a really pleasant (wow, did I just use that word?) night, with friends & beer..the 2 most important things! hah
Have been spending this day with Anna, here at home, fixing our hair. she did my hair-relaxing, and I highlighted her hair...how girly!
gonna spend this evening finishing the last things on my essay, drinking the best tea ever! (and i found it at extra-price today in the shop, only 1 euro! wanted to buy 3 packages....but didn't)

friends, food & flea-markets
oh I've had such a nice weekend so far!
yesterday evening me, Anna & Tarmo went to Anna's friend Nathalie, who lives around the corner from where I live. She has bought an appartment just about where I found one I want to get (a couple of posts down).. it was so amazingly beautiful and I went crazy like always when I see people's homes..
well, over there was also Karin x2, Alex & Elsa (whom I had no idea was going to be there, but we met in Barcelona, at a party in my house!)..
Nathalie had cooked lentilsoup, baked amazing bread and an apple-pie...the mood was on top!
we started pretty early so by 1 o'clock when people were going out to dance, the bed was the right place for me (after having gone to sleep at 2.30 every night this week)...
unfortunately I don't have any pictures from yesterday , but if I see any, you'll get to see them too!
woke up today, without a hangover! good start..then took my bicycle to Anna's appartment where all of us from yesterday had a huge & incredibly delicious brunch, everybody brought something, and we feasted on american pancakes with raspberry-jam, indian tofu-curry, homeade hummus, toasts, cheese & crackers, grapes, scrambled eggs and whatnot!
yum yum yum!
after this we all took a little flea-market tour!
this is exactly how a saturday should be spent - food, friends & flea-markets. the 3 F's!
tonight - birthday-party at Paulina's, then going to Volym, where Dominique will be playing cd's, and after that...who knows? maybe hip-hop at Babel...
how are you guys spending your weekend? I hope it's as nice as mine!

peanutbutter cups
watching the royal wedding on tv, i needed to have something nice to eat to it ..
I decided to try to make my own peanutbutter cups, delicious!!!!
and really simple

I just melted some dark chocolate that I painted the paper-cups with, quite a thick layer..
then I melted (or just made it a bit softer) peanutbutter and butter..and then crushed some digestive-crackers (the recipe said grahamcrackers but we dont really have that in sweden so..)..and mixed with the peanutbutter-mix..then i put a spoon of this mix in every chocolate-painted cup, finsihed of with chocolate on top of the cups, and then put them in the fridge for an hour!!

lentilsoup with saffron, potatoes & white wine
i just have to share with your this fantastic recipe I came up with once.
well i dont know if it's really a recipe, I never use measures, but anyway..
for 3-4 portions (thought I eat it all after and hour or two)
you need:
a couple of potatoes, 3-4 maybe
maybe 3 dl of red lentils
saffron
a splash of white wine (0.5 dl maybe)
rosemary, salt, pepper, chilipowder
fresh lemonjuice
½ onion (i usually use yellow, but you could probably use red onion if that's what you have..or charlottes)
1 mediumsized clove of garlic
cream (half a dl maybe)
vegetable-stock
so start with chopping the onion, and the potatoes to in pieces...fry them in oil together with the saffron (you DON'T need alot, half a teaspoon maximum) and press the garlic or chop it finely...
stir all the time, and pour the wine over it..let it soak in and I guess it will kind of start boiling, so put the lentils (with about 1 dl of water), the lemon and the potatoe pieces in there..stir and put some salt, pepper rosemary and chili in there..
let it simmer for a minute, then pour about 1 L of stock or water (i usually boil it in the boiler first to make it boil faster) with a bouillon-cube...
let it boil for about 7 minutes, then put the crema in and let it boil for yet some minutes. it usually takes about 10 minutes for the lentils and potatos to get soft..just taste it and see...
then i usually use a mixer to make it smoother, but it's not necessery..
I usually eat it with a spoon of créme fraiche/sour cream, and some nice bread
